On the 26th and 27th of May 2021, FAFCE held its biannual Board Meeting, gathering its 28 Member, Associated and Observer Organisations from 18 European Countries. This year, the event featured three guest speakers. Fr. Martin Michalíček, Secretary General of Council of the Bishops’ Conferences of Europe (CCEE), encouraged FAFCE Members: « We count on your presence in Europe! To bring the gospel of the family, the authentic good news of the family« . Fr. Manuel Barrios Prieto, Secretary General of the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE), emphasised the central role played by family associations, as “they witness the beauty of the family and can arrive where institutions sometimes cannot arrive”. Last, Mr. Mattia de Grassi, Member of the Cabinet of European Commission Vice-President Dubravka Šuica and of the Common Secretariat of the Conference on the Future of Europe, discussed with FAFCE Board Members how best to leverage the opportunity of the launch of the Conference on the Future of Europe to attract wider attention to the centrality of the family in European life and democracy.
